Every year Security Space puts out a report on the top ISPs, measured by number of web servers hosted on the ISP's networks.
Who do you think that the top three ISPs are?
Well, if you said MSN, AOL and/or Earthlink, well, you'd be wrong. In fact, AOL and MSN aren't even on the list, and Earthlink came in at 29th (not a bad showing, really, as it was 29th out of a field of 250).
The top ISP is probably an ISP which many of you have never even heard of. The top ISP in the world, according to Security Space, is German ISP Schlunde.de with 3.77% of the world's web servers, followed by U.S. based ThePlanet.com (2.96%) and Japan's Japan Registry Services (2.82%).
The next closest ISPs didn't even break 2%, and Above.net, Qwest, and Level3, considered by many to be enormous, didn't even make the top ten.
